The artist has just released her new single “Need to Know”, and with it a futuristic music video that’s got everyone talking.

“Need to Know” is the second single from her upcoming album “Planet Her” coming out on June 25th. Its sound and accompanying visuals are out of this world, quite literally…

The music video takes place on a girls night out in space, an experience that we’d all want to be part of. Doja Cat appears in an alien-like outfit together with some of our favourite personalities like Grimes and Ryan Destiny, while exploring music in an interplanetary way.

The video, directed by Miles Cable and AJ Favicchio, takes us on the journey of a night out with a group of confident girls in a post-modern world, girls who are not afraid of feeling themselves and asking for what they want. Kind of like us, minus the futuristic looks.

We can see them pregraming, getting ready, taking an uber to get to the club, a typical (yet kind of forgotten) routine, right? It reminisces on the times when that was a possibility, making us hopeful about a return to it, and embodying our current ‘out of this world’ perspective of clubbing.

Doja Cat’s performance in the new release is true to her style, and to our times, breaking taboos about sexuality and promiscuity with lyrics that talk about desire and self-worth. An aspect that is fashionably highlighted through the choice of costumes, with coordinated daring looks like the one of @uglyworldwide in a 𝐋 𝐀 𝐃 𝐀 𝐋 𝐄 𝐆 𝐈 𝐍 𝐀 3D outfit.
