Classic Leather Jacket

Where better to start than with the classic leather biker jacket? This jacket is a fashion staple for a reason and always enables whoever is wearing it to look like the coolest person on the street. The version Hailey is wearing here is the standard classic design in black which exudes that timeless cool factor, although a coloured variant could also work as a bolder approach to wearing the classic and showcase a different style of personality.

Printed Leather Jacket

If a leather jacket in a totally different colour sounds like a bit too much, then how about the classic black with some stylish printing instead? Prints are a great way to showcase more individuality in an outfit and leather jackets are treasure troves when it comes to unique stylings and patterns. The version Hailey is wearing features a 70s styled vintage print in a golden-brown sitting atop the shoulders and along the lapels, giving the jacket a unique identity and making it stand out without feeling too over the top.

The Oversized Blazer

Tailoring works in every season of the year but especially comes to life in the spring where it can style up an outfit with minimal effort whilst also keeping the wearer warm if the weather is a little cooler. An oversized blazer especially is perfect for creating a relaxed yet still stylish outfit especially when paired with a matching pair of baggier trousers much like Hailey is wearing here. Wearing a t-shirt or hoodies underneath can push the casual vibes even further and create a really clean outfit that can be put together in mere seconds.

Whilst the trench is typically out of season for the time being there is one variant of the classic that works wonderfully for the spring. The leather trench is an even cooler take on the already cool leather jacket and adds a sense of gravitas to the jacket for an uber sleek look that will bring obvious comparisons to The Matrix. The leather trench is perfect for spring evenings where the weather is a little cooler and an outfit is in need of a warmer layer.

Sublime Silks and Perfect Pastels

Silk is a material that screams spring with its lightweight and flowy nature making it perfect for a day with a slight breeze to add some gracious movement to an outfit. Because silk is often so lightweight it’s perfect for wearing on warmer days as it won’t overheat the wearer but will still keep them warm if temperatures suddenly drop. Pastels are the best colours to accompany some silk too as they have a natural spring aura about them and add some nice, gentle colour without being too loud or too bold.

Boxy Cuts

The boxy blazer is another great take on the traditional piece that gives it some more personality whilst still keeping its refined feel. The version worn by Hailey features some huge shoulders and long baggy sleeves giving the impression that there’s plenty of room to move around inside and won’t therefore feel too restrictive. The double-breasted styling of the jacket also adds another subtle layer of elegance to the piece whilst still retaining its cool, sleek feel.

]]> The Parisian legend of Givenchy has come together with an urban American aesthetic to show off a collection that celebrates a look that goes beyond the beaten track.

To develop the brand’s latest collection, the brand’s Designer Matthew Williams collaborated with the Seattle-born and Mexico-based graffiti artist Chito in order to show off a fresh interpretation of American and Parisian styles. The looks on the runway captured the emotion of a different 90s youth culture found on both sides of the ocean — one of the urban world, with a chic look that could have been seen on anyone cool walking the city streets, or hanging on the edges around roadways or rail yards. And now this collection brings the look into the modern world by perfectly coupling dark tones, shoulder harnesses, graffitied graphics, and robust combat-style boots with currently on-trend details such as cutouts and sleek asymmetry.

As the iconic brand’s latest collection also features dresses, accessories and separates dripping in chains and jewels adorned the runway with a different style of gleam, with ruby red ear climbers and caps with the brims edged off adding further elements of style. The dark shades of the fabrics were also intercepted with a variety of textures, silhouettes and cuts, to add further innovative variety to the collection.

The signature dog and clown faces of Chito’s graffiti art pop up from the pieces, contrasting with the sharp black shades of the garments were showcased on a runway fittingly set up in the Parisian railyards.

Williams said he wanted to capture the connections between two of the most famous cities in the work. 

“It’s that idea of a journey to Paris from New York,” he told Women’s Wear Daily. He added, “I loved this idea of the airbrush graphics being like the artwork that would be on the trains,” he continued. “A lot of people also don’t realize necessarily that the Statue of Liberty is here, and its connection to France. That’s something I always wanted to do since I moved here — to do a show at the Statue of Liberty — and this was a great opportunity to do so.”

]]> Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022: the fashion show of the new women’s collection designed by Nicolas Ghesquière was staged in Axe Majeur, near Paris. The futuristic location sets the tone for the collection: a thrilling adventure along with the creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, who wants everyone to travel to the moon with him, with references that resemble the iconic LV’s collections from the 60’s. An epic futuristic art environment in the Paris province of Cergy-Pontoise designed by Dani Karavan, the collection dove head first into the themes of space and time, global and universal, and the past, present and future. “Today, with what we’re experiencing, it’s a different approach. It’s in the scale of the presentation that I can define the term ‘cruise’: making people fantasize and see what those clothes are designed for. In reality, it’s a global collection that’s totally seasonless,” Ghesquière said.

The location is simply stunning: the colossal masterpiece made by the artist Dani Karavan turns into the French maisons. A utopian area where time and space fuse together and enter into an almost symbiotic relationship with natural elements, creating a suspended moment, an illusion. “I like the concept of a stargate – an imaginary portal – that can transport us, our feelings and our wishes to someone or something we love,” Ghesquière said, referring to the Axe Majeur. “I wanted to give this jaunt of energy – a pure fashion moment in less than eight minutes – to show that those connections weren’t lost with what we experienced.”

Nicolas took inspirations from what seems like a festive parade. The Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022 collection looks consist of colourful looks, a mix of prints and details that recall the event itself, with clothes that are followed in a crescendo of joy and optimism.

The short coat in red varnish lacquer from the first release is followed by a mini dress with a sporty taste; an innovative look in 3D knitwear; bomber jackets and miniskirts with a multicoloured jacquard fabric; a striped plumage; a blazer and suit trousers with sharp silhouettes; draped evening tops and metallic cocktail dresses.

The accessories were not to be neglected. The bags are available in different models and materials; the soft multicolored patchwork bags are particularly unexpected for the house, but merge beautifully with the aesthetics of the collection. The shoulder straps with the new LV Monogram pattern are to die for, and the new shoes for the season bring back the sling back models, decorated with metal beads and styled with tubular bows. Last but not least, biker-inspired boots that retain femininity and artisanal savoir faire in its intricate details and in the wooden heel.

“It’s this expression of enthusiasm,” Nicolas Ghesquière told British Vogue about his collection for the final frontier. “The term ‘cruise’… I won’t say it’s dated. It has a charm. It’s the fantasy of going somewhere,” he said on a video call from Paris after the screening.

Ferrari stands for ultimate luxury, modernity and sensuality within their car designs, and these principles are beautifully incorporated in their 52 looks collection. Looking ahead at the brand diversification of the company, it seems like a strategic move to step into the fashion scene, especially when opening the show with some of the biggest names in fashion: Mica Aragñaraz, Mariacarla Boscono and Natalia Vodianova, just to name a few.

With this unexpected, seasonless collection, composed by 80% unisex and clothing that is purposefully designed to be fluid, the designers of the house are truly making a grand entrance in the industry. Opening new, unexpected frontiers, the brand stands behind its original values: striving for excellence.

Under the lead of Rocco Iannone, who had previously worked at Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Pal Zileri, the new creative director will be in charge of expanding the dynamic force of the house to the next level.

With pieces that range from two-pieces with car motifs to racing-inspired outerwear, and not only one but two brand partnerships with both Ray-ban – for their eyewear – and Puma – for their footwear – Iannone, the designer behind the collection, did a marvelous job at creating a dialogue between fashion and cars, one that follows the quintessential principles of design, and translated into the highest craftmanship we would expect when associated with such a prestigious brand.

The designs are functional, yet chic. It is infused with utilitarian and maximalist accents, both very trendy and on vogue. The palette used in the collection resembles the colours of their cars: rich, vibrant yellows, reds and blues, but also black, grey and white, adding a sophisticated, neutral touch to this extravagant combination.

Whilst this is only the start of this new legacy, the brand is surely unlocking new horizons for the company, and allowing a new, younger audience to reach and identify themselves within the bold Ferrari lifestyle. To celebrate its debut and extension to the Italian powerhouse, Ferrari took a palatial property in Maranello, known as the hometown of the brand, and included a truly spectacular ultra-tech factory, flashy automobiles and giving birth to a new high-design concept flagship store.
