As the nights draw in and we get back into the lockdown routine, you may be finding it hard to keep your regular sleep pattern intact. Luckily for you, there are enough sleep apps out there for you to find what you need to get a good night’s sleep. We’ve made a list of the best apps for sleeping, with different developed techniques and takes to cater to whatever will help you – have a read.

1. Endel

Endel – Endel uses AI to help you focus, relax or sleep. The app delivers a private sound environment using frequency ratios that reduce the energy consumption of the brain (very scientific, we know), the ‘soundscapes’ the app provides adapt in real-time to cater to your location, weather and light exposure. Endel’s recent project saw a collaboration with dream-pop goddess Grimes, to create an AI lullaby. The project used Grimes’ vocals and compositions created especially which was then processed by Endel’s tech to generate a soundscape. Here’s a taster of the project:

Grimes X Endel – Al Lullaby (Official Video)

2. Noisli

Noisli lets you create your own personal sleep soundtrack. You can craft your own combo from a large library of background sounds, ranging from weather to white noise or choose a premade playlist designed for different situations. The app can also be used to unwind or meditate to and is suitable for children.

3. Calm

Calm is an app for meditation and mindfulness training, but their sleep section is helpful AND star-studded. Listen to ‘sleep stories’ read by soothing voices to help you drift off, a feature that includes some celebrity readers like Lucy Liu and Harry Styles – you might just fall in love as well as fall asleep.

4. Tide

Tide is great for daily mindfulness and calm, but it has some brilliant features to help you get a good night’s sleep as well. You can listen to the sounds of nature or sound scenes, choose from gentle-wake alarms and find your perfect meditation routine to do before sleeping.

5. Pzizz

Pzizz claims to be one of the most advanced sleep and power nap systems out there. The company uses psychoacoustic principles to help you fall asleep and has been proven to help with insomnia, through dreamscapes that change as you sleep to complement various parts of your sleep cycle. There’s a built-in alarm and session timers so you can wake up on time. This app is especially good if you want an efficient nap without the grogginess sometimes experienced.
