So, sweetie…whether you have a date or not, V Day is a big event in the make-up calendar; Partner or no partner, treat yourself! The biggest trend at the minute in the beauty world has just got to be beautiful and glowy skin, you know like in every single Charlotte Tilbury advert where all the models look like angels with beautiful glowy, well glowy everything! And you instantly want to do whatever it takes to look like that?! We’ve got you covered. Check out our Must-Haves for V Day below. Yo’ welcome.

Base

1). We’re going to start this at the very beginning with your primer; Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Moisturiser & Primer £44.50 for 50ml. An absolute beauty this one is – it works as a moisturiser and primer and is so unbelievably nourishing on the skin, not to mention it will keep your make-up dewy and on your skin all day.

2). Next, layer on the iconic Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation £42, an oil-free, lightweight and so-silky-you-could-die foundation. Super buildable and applies seamless, no wonder this is the Artist’s Choice 10 years in a row!

3). A winner as always is YSL Touche Eclat High Coverage Concealer £26; So, this isn’t the regular one everyone has dribbled over for years, that one was actually marketed as just a highlighter whereas this one is predominantly a high coverage concealer. You still get the beautiful luminosity of the OG Touche, but also a weightless and long wear concealer… really struggling to find a flaw here.

4). If that wasn’t illuminating enough for you so far, I’ve only just begun! Add even more glow with the YSL Touche Eclat Shimmer Stick £27. Cream/liquid products are really going to make your cheeks extra dewy as they catch the light super easily. This stick highlight comes in 5 different shades, my fav being the gorgeous champagne ‘Light Gold’, I mean just go into a store and swatch this on your hand it genuinely might be the prettiest thing I have ever seen. (Prove me wrong, I dare you!!) I mean the actual product has all the good stuff: easy to blend, super creamy and a lightweight texture. TBH, if you like a shimmery bronzer, you can easily use a darker shade to add some warmth to your skin.

5). Totally changes the game: NARS Orgasm Liquid Blush £25. I mean NARS’ ‘Orgasm’ range is iconic, we all know and adore it…this is just in a lightweight liquid form so it’s just another staple to add to the dewy trend.

6). Lastly for the base, slap on that Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray £24 to make sure your base doesn’t move all day…whatever your activity is. I’ve heard great things about this setting spray being 100% sex-proof; you can be the judge of that.

Eyes and Lips

1). Keeping with this gorgeous healthy glowy skin trend, Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes Palette ‘Exagger-Eyes’ £40. OK, I know you’re thinking it’s a little pricey for 4 shadows, but honey if you just knew what these bad boys were capable of! All you have to do is watch one of those CT adverts I was talking about. Nuff said. I mean they’re just everything: buttery, pigmented, the product itself is just such amazing quality it’s insane! You’ll thank me.

2). The current brow trend is messy, undone and natural; easy as pie, brush up your brows with the tinted Benefit Cosmetics Gimmie Brow+ £22.50 for a full and put together bro duo that takes literally seconds.

3). You need to keep them hooked on your eyes…the only way is to add a sultry liner on your waterline. A black liner on the waterline is so sexy it really draws you to the eyes; even I give myself a double-take when I whack some on. My fav is Estee Lauder Double Wear Waterproof Eyeliner ‘Noir’ £19, just glides on the eyes so easily and stays all day. Even great for contact wearers like myself.

4). To finish the eyes off, add some famous Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara £22 (TBH if your flying solo this V day, this mascara is supposedly better than sex, and if you have a partner, you’re going to need that waterproof one…win win). Volumizing without being too clumpy, and it deff won’t transfer on your lids or under eye.

5). Last but certainly not least, chuck on some Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick ‘Glowing Jen’ £28. This was actually named after Jennifer Aniston and I believe a portion of the money for this collection goes to charity. Moisturising and so pretty and glowy oh my goodness it’s insane.
