Now that we don’t have the long walks to the department store to keep us from shopping and all our favourite things are a click away there is nothing to stop you from shopping the quarantine blues away but before you fall into all the traps, regret how much money you have spent, return it because it doesn’t fit, here are a few hacks to help you shop online.

Discounts, and where to find them

The feeling of getting a discount on your shopping is always a bonus to the shopping experience. What you don’t know is that not all discounts are advertised on the site page. So how can you find theses discounts apps like Honey (available in United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom) and Rakuten rewards work to search for any discounts around your purchase? Another way to find discounts is to ask for them. Most shopping websites have the chat boxes at the bottom you can ask there if they have any discounts.

Honey – https://www.joinhoney.com

Rakuten rewards – https://www.rakuten.co.uk

Shop before you shop

If you go onto an online shopping website not knowing what you want to buy best believe you will leave, there having bought a lot of things and very few of them ever turn out to be a steal. To aid this you need shop before you shop. Websites like ‘shop style’ help you to find clothes based on trends and also discounts available. This may help you know what you want to buy before you officially shop for them online.

Shop style https://www.shopstyle.com

Leave it for later

Another hack that has been seen to work for some. The idea is to shop for the items you want and leave them in the cart usually some websites will contact you to remind you of your items and if you don’t buy them sometimes, they sweeten the pot by sending you deals of free shipping or any discounts that may be applicable.

Different sites different size

Have you ever shopped on a website and you picked your correct size, yet your item still came a bit too small or big? Before you swear off anything here is a hack for you grab yourself a tape measure and take your own measurements and note them down. A site like Size charter allows you to find your perfect fit based on different brands giving you your size in different popular brands.

Size charter http://www.sizecharter.com

If you are new let them know

Almost all shopping websites offer discounts to their first-time customer or customers without a personal account with them. If you are really looking to save that extra 10% -20% maybe, it’s time to make it official and open an account. They also offer additional discounts if you invite a friend it all depends on how bad you want that discount.

Follow your brands on social media

If you have a specific brand you love or just always have the products for you it is time to declare your love and follow them on their social media this will help you get ahead of their product releases discounts or upcoming sales also if the love is real you can also participate in their giveaways you might be the lucky winner.

Schedule your shopping to discount seasons

By now if you are a true shopper you already know the same seasons beginning of summer and winter and also our favourite holidays black Friday and cyber Monday. During these times you are likely to find the biggest discounts out there so If you could schedule your shopping around these times you will find you have an easier time especially if you have already done the previous steps of planning what you want to buy.

Whether it’s a long term partner, early romance or friends with benefits set-up you’ve been separated from due to lockdown, we’re guessing you’re starting to get slightly hot under the collar.

Whilst maintaining a relationship online is manageable there are still aspects that need to be kept in mind. It’s 2020, use the abundance of technology we have on offer to your advantage, just ensure it’s done safely; we don’t want a Kim K/Reggie Bush dilemma to deal with post lockdown.

1. Don’t Use WhatsApp

If you’re planning to send some spicy pics then make sure you do so on an app that doesn’t automatically save any images. Revenge porn is real and has been on the rise according to data from the BBC. Some apps that would be better to use are: Snapchat, Confide or Signal.

2. Avoid Taking Screenshots

If you want to save something for future use, just ask; don’t save images of someone without their consent, and make sure that person really is completely comfortable with you saving them, it’s a big deal.

3. Encrypt Your Evidence

To avoid any awkward iCloud hacking like the Mila Kunis 2012 photo scandal, make sure you put any images you have in an encrypted folder in your phone. There’s nothing worse than backing up your photos up to your laptop and next to the pictures of Nan’s 80th there’s a compromising image of your partner. Cringe.

4. Consider If You Want Your Face in the Photos

If it’s someone you trust then you do you, but if there’s even the slightest feeling that you don’t your face in the pictures then don’t do it. So even if you do have a bad breakup resulting in some leaked images (p.s: not okay), then you wouldn’t be able to be identified.

During a time dominated by social media, TikTok and Livestream one creature has risen above all others: the E-girl known for her signature pout and the famous Miley Cyrus tongue out facial expression. It is rare almost uncommon to spot the e-girl in the real world her dominion is the internet.Little is known of the true origin of the E-girl but like every person, she is a product of the evolution of many subcultures. In the 1960s and 70s, we had the punks who were majorly situated in London and were formed as a political rebellion on status. Later in the 80s to the 2000s were the emos and goths mostly in America. Across the world in the 90s and 2000, there was an emerging trend of the Harajuku girls made popular into the western culture by Gwen Stephani, theirs was an imitation of girls from Japanese anime. All this subculture are a result of a medium of influence the punks had a political rebellion, the emos and goths, music and the Harajuku girls had anime. The E-girl is an evolution of all this subculture her medium of influence being the internet. The beauty of the E girl lies in her ever-blushing face as her blush lies animated all across her unnaturally freckled face. Her eyeliner is thick and black and winged out. Her eyeshadow of choice is almost always a soft pastel colour. The main beauty mark of the E-girl is her heart-shaped tears painted below her eyes. The main theme of the e-girl beauty look is to look cute and edgy at the same time. These themes have been taken from the Harajuku girls and emo.

The E-girl style consists of a short circle skirt and a striped long-sleeved t-shirt usually worn alone or under a larger shirt. Her clothes are usually thrifted most probably from Depop. Her clothing style consists of a mixture of subcultures the layering from skater style and the pleated skirt from anime characters. Her jewellery consists of more edgy punk themes like pins for earrings chokers and sometimes some face piercings to each e-girl her ownThe increased use of TikTok has led to the rise of the e girl whit trends on TikTok showing videos of transformations into the E-girl so grab you’re your striped long-sleeved your padlock necklace put on some blush and let’s all be E-girls.
