minimalism but emotive restraint, an invocation of form that asks us to lean in rather than be
overwhelmed.

The Bar Jacket Reimagined: Dialogue With Dior’s Archive
The most striking motif was the reinterpretation of the Bar jacket. Dior’s enduring symbol of postwar femininity and structure. Anderson did not preserve it as a museum piece; he subverted it. In
some looks, the jacket appeared with broadened shoulders, exaggerated proportions, or softened
waists that hinted at silhouette without enforcing it. The result was less restoration and more
reinterpretation. A conversation between historical discipline and contemporary ease. These
variations felt like questions: what does authority look like if it no longer constrains? What does
refinement mean when loosened from tradition? And how does couture operate in a moment that
prizes expressive identity over coded uniformity?
Ornament as Narrative Far from decoration, adornment became language throughout the show. Pearls were oversized, not delicate; bows – historically symbols of sweetness – reappeared as architectural punctuation, bold and slightly ironic. Metallic forms surfaced like relics repurposed into symbols of power. What could have been static adornment instead became semantics: each ornamentation conveying agency, intent, and emotional texture.

Ambiguous Bodies One of the most unforgettable threads woven through the collection was how Anderson treated the human form as something in motion: mutable, hybrid, and resonant. Sculptural elements sometimes clipped onto fluid fabrics, as if structure and ephemerality were engaged in perpetual tension. Some silhouettes encased the body in dramatic capes or extended planes that felt architectural, not merely decorative. Others gently revealed curves in unexpected ways. The tension between concealment and suggestion became deeply expressive.

The Closing Statement: Mona Tougaard as Bridal Myth
And then…the finale. The closing look was delivered by Mona Tougaard, whose walk felt less like
a runway exit and more like the unveiling of a new myth. Cloaked in a bridal-adjacent silhouette
that transcended wedding tropes, Tougaard’s look was both ceremonial and spectral – white fabric
that folded like memory itself, detailed with couture handwork that whispered of legacy and
reinvention. Her presence was deliberate: not a fleeting afterthought, but the final thesis of Anderson’s argument. In choosing a model of Tougaard’s stature and versatility – a figure whose very name evokes freedom, strength, and poetic ambiguity. Dior suggested that couture’s future is not about passive beauty but active presence. This closing look did what the entire collection whispered all along: it asked us to reconsider what couture means when its author refuses to be confined by history yet remains in deep conversation with it.

What made this debut particularly resonant was its self-awareness: couture no longer exists solely in
hushed salons or elite ateliers; today, it moves through networks of images, screens and cultural
discourse. Anderson understood this. His silhouettes are not just garments; they are content,
arguments, metaphors – tailor-made for the digital moment without ever feeling simplified for it.

A New Dior Vision: Authority Reimagined
Jonathan Anderson’s first haute couture collection for Dior asserted something decisive: the house’s
authority is not located in replication, but in re-imagination. It is a couture that listens as much as it
speaks, that questions as much as it adorns.
This was not a debut born of uncertainty but of confidence. A bold vision that respects tradition
without being bound by it, and that finds poetry in paradox. In doing so, Anderson has not merely

Dubbed “Phriendship,” the show celebrated their 30-year creative partnership, blending streetwear roots with Louis Vuitton’s luxury heritage. The atmosphere was elevated by an orchestral soundtrack and 24 vitrines showcasing archival treasures, including Billionaire Boys Club merchandise, Louis Vuittonx Supreme skateboards, and N.E.R.D vinyls. 

The collection draws inspiration from Nigo’s workwear heritage and Pharrell’s streetwear vision, celebrating their shared subcultural influences and blending them with contemporary luxury. The eclectic collection felt like a journey through their creative synergy, elevating workwear silhouettes with premium craftmanship, featuring standout pieces like sleek leather varsity jackets, modern bomber jackets, and crocodile leather trucker jackets dyed to resemble denim. Accessories took centre stage, including the playful lobster-shaped handbag, Damier trunks with Pharrell and Nigo’s portraits, and the versatile “Buttersoft” in multiple colours. 

The earthy palette, crystal embellishments, and Japanese street culture influences highlighted their shared vision of functional yet luxurious design. Celebrities such as Idris Elba, Aaron Pierre, Bradley Cooper, Takashi Murakami and Dylan Wang were among the star-studded audience, underscoring the collection’s cultural significance. Pharrell described the collaboration as “a conversation between the past and future,” solidifying Louis Vuitton’s position as a bridge between tradition and contemporary innovation.

COVERUNCOVERED

The Seoul based fashion brand took centre stage, Juun.J unveiled its Fall-Winter 2025 collection, “COVERUNCOVERED,” at Palais de Tokyo. Designer Jung Wook-jun explored the theme of opposites, blending tailored precision with voluminous silhouettes to create a striking visual dialogue. The collection featured oversized outerwear—parkas, utility jackets, and denim blousons—paired with sleek tailored pieces, such as pencil skirts, skinny pants, and double-breasted suits. This juxtaposition of extravagant and refined elements highlighted the tension between structure and fluidity.

The season’s collection emphasised accessibility wile maintaining its artistic integrity. Materials were a key element of contrast, with glossy leather and shaggy faux fur juxtaposed against thick rib knits and stiff cotton twill. Traditional military and workwear influences were reinterpreted with a softer, more emotional design language. A standout feature was the “melting” motif in denim pieces. Beneath the XXL outer layers, the narrative shifted to sleek pencil skirts and tailored trousers, creating a striking contrast to the voluminous outerwear. The waist became a defining boundary, accentuating the interplay between the expansive and the fitted. As Jung described, the effect was intended to evoke the image of materials melting or dripping down the body.

Jung Wook-jun commented on the growing global influence of K-fashion, noting the exciting fusion of tradition and innovation in this collection. With “COVERUNCOVERED,” Juun.J redefined modern menswear, offering a bold yet sophisticated take on contrasts in design.

A Timeless Fusion of History and Innovation 

Dior Men’s Fall-Winter 2025 collection, presented by Kim Jones at Paris Fashion Week, was a masterclass in modern aristocratic minimalism. Drawing inspiration from Christian Dior’s 1954 “H-Line,” Jones reinterpreted the designer’s legacy through a contemporary lens, mixing elements of masculinity and femininity. The collection featured expertly structured tailoring, including silk faille swing coats in light pink, navy, and jet black, alongside luxurious yet everyday pieces like velvet joggers and sculpted blousons. 

Jones’s designs, though steeped in history, exuded an unmistakable modern allure, with delicate silk blouses draping over collarbones and cashmere knits hugging the shoulders like ballgowns. The show’s mysterious allure was further enhanced by silk ribbons tied around models’ eyes—a nod to a masked ball photo of Christian Dior.

This collection was more than about style; it was about transformation. One coat, which could be converted into a skirt, showcased Jones’s innovative approach to menswear. Classic tailoring merged with couture influences, evident in the embroidered satin shoes, archival patterns, and the dramatic closing pink robe adorned with intricate beadwork. The collection seamlessly fused tradition with modernity, redefining contemporary menswear with a bold yet elegant twist.

Willy Chavarria x Adidas Originals 

Tarantula

Willy Chavarria’s Fall-Winter 2025 collection, Tarantula, captivated Paris Men’s Fashion Week with a poignant celebration of identity, resilience, and inclusivity. Held at The American Cathedral, the venue’s spiritual ambiance echoed Chavarria’s Mexican American roots and queer identity, as rose-adorned alters set the stage for a runway show that was both powerful and intimate.

Chavarria’s collection, blending elevated workwear and sportswear with luxurious fabrics like Italian silks and velvet, showcased broad-shouldered suits, oversized bombers, and graphic tees featuring messages on community. The bold, ’90s-inspired silhouettes were complemented by oversized jackets, chinos, and combat boot sneakers, creating a collection that balanced high fashion with streetwear influences. The collaboration with Adidas Originals brought a limited-edition capsule that included iconic footwear like the Jabbar Low and Jabbar Dress sneakers, available through a unique giveaway from a vintage lowrider Chevy Impala cruising through Paris.

A diverse cast of models, including Becky G, Indya Moore, and Paloma Elsesser, embodied the collection’s core values of diversity and subversive masculinity, while J Balvin’s live performance added an electrifying and intimate touch. Notable attendees such as Luka Sabbat, Michèle Lamy, and Ty Dolla $ign, alongside fashion luminaries like Olivier Rousteing, further underscored the significance of the event, showing solidarity with Chavarria’s message of inclusivity and social justice. With Tarantula, Chavarria proved once again that fashion can be a tool for social justice, embracing the power of identity and community.

Jacquemus 

LA CROISIÈRE

Jacquemus’ Spring-Summer 2025 show, La Croisière, took an intimate turn, setting a new standard for runway presentations. Held in Auguste Perret’s art deco apartment, with only 40 guests in attendance, the setting was understated yet impactful. Simon Porte Jacquemus expressed a desire to strip away artifice, allowing the silhouettes to speak for themselves in the raw, personal atmosphere of the space. The show was underscored by Édith Piaf’s Mon Dieu, paying homage to French musical heritage and adding emotional depth to the experience.

Fashion highlights included double-breasted blazers paired with sharply pleated trousers, minimal coats cinched at the waist, and form-flattering hourglass dresses. The standout was the “naked” gown—a showstopper accentuating the human form with old Hollywood glamour. Footwear featured pointed woven heels and the ongoing collaboration between Nike and Jacquemus, with the Moon Nike Shoes making a statement.

The show’s intimacy was exemplified by Tyla wearing the same dress as Adriana Lima, who walked the runway. In a candid moment, Tyla admitted, “Adriana definitely wore it better; she ate me up,” highlighting the mutual respect between these two women. Celebrity attendees, including Pamela Anderson, Anna Wintour, and Central Cee, as well as models like Adriana Lima, Alex Consani and Christy Turlington, walking the runway added gravitas to an unforgettable show that redefined fashion presentation.

Wooyoungmi 

Wooyoungmi’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, presented at the Hôtel de Maisons, explored the Korean philosophy of ch’orhak, “how to become wiser,” through a blend of modern utilitarian elegance and poetic formality. The collection emphasised self-reflection and self-discipline, with sharp tailoring juxtaposed against romantic floral motifs that disrupted tradition and added a ceremonial flair. Floral elements extended into casual knitwear, suggesting a shift toward everyday elegance.

The outerwear — trench coats, Crombie coats, and parkas — paid homage to the brand’s heritage, while workwear-inspired structured cargo pockets brought a utilitarian edge. The footwear range, including laced-up derbies and Chelsea boots, evoked ceremonial wardrobe styles, enhancing the collection’s sophisticated versatility. Notably, garments featured “minhwa,” the traditional Korean folk art, offering a tribute to the country’s culture and history.

Celebrities like Lucky Blue Smith, Will Poulter, and Sienna Spiro attended, underscoring the collection’s universal appeal. Wooyoungmi FW25’s fusion of traditional and contemporary elements made a bold statement: elegance is not just about appearance, but about evolving and cultivating one’s identity through fashion.

Co-host for the evening, Maya Jama dazzled us as she wore a stunning olive-green gown with cross over detailing at the top and embroidered flowers at the front. Jourdan Dunn served us a head-to-toe leopard print moment with Dior. She walked the carpet looking gorgeous in a Dilara Findikoglu moment and celebrated backstage in style after thanking the transgender models who came before her, paving the way for Consani to flourish.

There might have been imminent challenges in the delivery of fashion weeks but their accompanying ad campaigns continued to amaze us without a doubt nor difficulty.

From Pradas presentation of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons creative direction, Versace’s colorful summer heath and extensive model casting, to Dior’s appreciation of Baroque-style, here are our favourite SS21 ad-campaigns to keep track of.

Prada

A campaign characterised by the lack of ‘a photographer’… Bizarre yet innovative.
This was Prada’s take for their Spring Summer 202 ad portfolio, a change from the usual marquee photographer and a transition to point out the performance of technology in this ever-changing industry. A particular decision which presented a 360-degree view of the models wearing the collection, but not just any collection, one that takes the form of a conversation… The Spring Summer 2021 is presented as an open dialogue between the brand and us, the viewers, who are welcome to answer a series of questions about our beliefs and perspective on the world directly on the Prada, website which might form part of the campaign itself. We’ve always referred to fashion as a means to expression and this time, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons co-creative direction perfectly captured the essence of this.

Versace

Versace’s latest campaign presented a world of their own, one capturing their runway show of September under the name of Versacepolis. Versacepolis is beautiful in its own merit but what makes it special are its muses, the “modern Medusas” as explained by the Italian fashion label, that wear the collection characterised by lingerie structures and a bright colour palette. Muses that include Precious lee, Hailey Bieber, and Kenall Jenner amongst many others, that with wet-styled hair, water inspired designs embody spring-summer at its best.

Dior

Dior seems to have gotten over the minimalist ad campaign, even if we have to admit that we had a soft spot for them, now it’s all about extravagance but in the classiest of ways. Dior’s latest campaign concentrates on Baroqueism, recreating the beauty of the 16th century with impressive shots taken by photographer Elen Kechicheva. Maria Grazia Chiuri presents us with inspiration taken from Tarot cards through this campaign that combines romanticism and drama through compositions that contrasts from the monotony of past minimalism.

Fendi

Fendi’s SS21 campaign presented elegance through the idea of relaxation and nonchalance, mirroring the role and use of fashion in our current lives. A campaign with a soft colour palette and a few saturated touches with reds and blues, as seen on iconic dresses and accessories perfect for the upcoming season. The images were shot by photographer Nick Knight in his London studio but evidently reference Rome and the origins of the brand. This is noticeable through the background inclusion of the Square Colosseum, Fendi’s Rome headquarters, a detail that only few will recognise but if they do they will appreciate even more every aspect of this campaign and the complexity of its composition.

It has been 75 years since the house of Dior was founded by fashion royalty Christian Dior and opened its doors in 1946. In honour of Dior’s history, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri has designed its SS21 Haute Couture collection which has become a space for pure fantasy in the very realist world we currently live in.

Tarot cards are the key source of inspiration for this mystic collection, specifically an ancient deck from the 15th century coined the ‘Visconti-Sforza deck’ which was once owned by the Duke of Milan and has since been studied meticulously by Chiuri. A fascination of tarot and all things mystical is both shared by Chiuri and Dior’s founding father, who was known for seeking advice from trusted clairvoyants throughout his life.

In the area of fashion film, Chiuri has teamed up with director Matteo Garrone for a second collaboration to produce a ten-minute film known as ‘Le Château du Tarot’ which depicts a young and sceptical girl seeking out wisdom from an elderly tarot reader. The following scenes follow the nameless beauty through rooms of a grand gothic castle, with each doorway greeting her with a tarot card come to life in the form of models draped in the fine fabrics of Dior. 

Fashion photographer for the campaign, Elina Kechichevna pictured the Baroque style of Chiuri’s creations perfectly with portraits of each of the 45 looks evoking a scene of nothing less than medieval royalty; with regal gold-hued backgrounds, touches of dusty rays of light and features of a snow-white horse fit for fairy tales. 

The looks personified each of the key figures found in tarot, such as the card of temperance, justice and the fool. The ranges of garments were made from embroidered silk and velvet princess gowns with majestic embroideries of flora to hand-painted motifs of the zodiac and tarot imagery, which was informed by the illustrative work of Pietro Ruffo. Other looks played on the androgynous beauty of Dior’s history with midnight black velvet suit trousers and bar jacket, as well as tailored high-waisted palazzo trousers, with pleated bodices and organza bellow sleeves in tints of dust greys, pinks and creams.

Chiuri told WWD “We worked with so many different techniques, that are so luxurious, that it can come across as really cinematic,”. An array of artisan methods and techniques were used throughout the collection, some which may be discreet to the untrained eye, but exquisite none the less, as an ode to Parisian workshops who are fighting to survive in this fast-fashion world.
