Oversized Bags

In the bag department we are seeing the return of large styles. Over the previous years, miniature designs have dominated the runways, however, 2023 is looking likely to break the pattern.

Altuzarra, Bally, and Bottega Veneta have shown us large scale bags with short shoulder straps are in for 2023. Large tote and doctor bags will be key for this trend.

We are loving the chaotic knotted handle bag debuted by Chloe and the blown-up classic Louis Vuitton clutch bag. Neutral colours are definitely a winner for these oversized styles.

Denim

A Y2K inspired come-back trend which is still gaining momentum. If you think this trend has peaked, we are here to inform you, it has not.

Etro have some amazing patterned denim pieces breaking into 2023. Their SS 23 show is full of nature inspired prints on classic blue denim. Hats, boots, two-pieces and coats- it is everywhere.

Alexander McQueen and Knwls are showing us the real power of double denim. Low waist jeans and midi skirts partnered with well fitted jackets, creating emphasis on waist.

Balmain and Chloe have constructed designs in distressed denim which aligns with the ripped and patchwork aesthetic. If you are moving away from clean-cut styles, this is definitely the denim style you should try in 2023.

Sheer

Body Positivity coming to the forefront of this fashion trend. Sheer is continuing to make a strong appearance within the SS 23 trend predictions.

We are especially seeing black sheer dominating this style. Brands such as Versace and Burberry are on board and there couldn’t be a better time to join them.

Christian Dior has tapped into this trend with sheer lace pieces showing the wearer’s bare skin underneath.

Grunge

Make room in your wardrobes for the grungier styles, as they are back with a vengeance.

Dolce and Gabbana are expressing their grunge through black lace detailing, cross jewelry and black corsets.

Classic of the punk subculture, brands such as Junya Watanabe and Ottolinger are making strong use of tartans. Junya Wantanabe also utiling heavy chain jewelry and thick souled boots to capture the essence of the aesthetic.

Clothing with political slogans, holes, and a graffiti styled finishes work great for this trend. And we are seeing this in Stella McCartney’s and Raf Simon’s designs for the upcoming season.

Cobweb

We are excited to tell you cobweb styled clothing will be trending through next year. Netted designs will be catching eyes in the streets as it gains popularity in the new season.

Full length styles can be seen from designer collections such as Acne Studios and Gabriela Hearst.

Victoria Beckham has dabbled in the trend with subtle additions to pieces and other brands have created full items from the cobweb knit.

Cutting Shapes

Prepare to feel the draft. Cut outs are going to dominate the SS 23 as we spy runway collections heavily featuring cut-out gowns. Mid-drifts, shoulders and torsos, will be as fashionable as the outfits themselves.

Natural shapes are being shown cut from Rokh and Eckhaus Latta designs. Bringing natural forms into the spotlight the cuts are flattering and aesthetically pleasing.

Sharp geometric shapes are also coming into play for next season. Using wrap clothing and undone buttons to create the cuts give an elegant balance of dressing and undressing.

Alexander McQueen slit cut boots is something we are excited to see more of next year as this trend spreads.

Silver

The future is upon us with the incoming silvery trend. Metallic looks and sparkles will be an easy find for next season.

Focusing on shiny fabrics and translucent effects for this trend, brands such as Dolce and Gabbana and Altuzarra are all over it. The metallic shine is also featuring in Gucci’s collection and most recently an element shown in Jacquemus’s SS 23 show. There is simply no denying, silver is going to be big.

Emma Scervino SS 23 collection expressed the silver trend in a different fashion. Blessing us with silver sparkles, we love this take on the trend.

Utility

Utility styles will be on the cards for next year. Oversized suits, large pockets and waterproof fabrics will hit the ground running. Super practical, super stylish.

These designers have decided the utility and practical styles of jumpsuits, suits and jackets are a leading trend for 2023. We can see the influence of utility spread across Stella McCartney’s designs to Burberry’s, as strong and durable fabrics of denim and leather are used to construct traditional utilitarian silhouettes.

Warrior Princess

The warrior princess is as amazing as it sounds. Sheilds up for this one, ladies. Golds and silvers are at the forefront for this trend and the shinier, the better.

Putting emphasis on a metallic armour look, Balmain, Gabriela Hearst and LaQuan Smith are suggesting we should get our battle gear on for 2023. The trend brings fictional games and fantasy to life.

What better way to empower ourselves than this super fun trend? Gaming comes to life in futuristic styles and strong metallic pieces. Feminine silhouettes meet the harsh constructions of armour.
