colors and infectious energy. With the weather not quite reflecting the season’s
warmth, this look back at the carnival serves as a burst of sunshine and festivity.
Although the carnival beats have quieted and the crowds have dispersed, the
fashion statements and festive spirit from this year’s celebration continue to resonate.
Fashion was at the forefront of the Notting Hill Carnival, serving as a canvas for individuality,
cultural pride, and exuberant joy. From traditional Caribbean attire to modern streetwear and
avant-garde creations, the carnival’s fashion was a reflection of London’s diverse and dynamic
essence.
At Voir Fashion, we had the pleasure of connecting with Hannah, a radiant and stylish
influencer based in London, who graced the event. She shared her inspirations, must-have

First Fully Adult Experience

Reflecting on her first fully adult experience at the vibrant festival, Hannah shares how it
differed from her childhood memories of the event. This time, she fully immersed herself in the
festivities with a grown-up, stylish flair.

So, how does a fashion lover dress for such an event?

The key piece: Timberland boots. Hannah attended the carnival with Timberland and
Uniform Display, building her entire outfit around this statement piece.
Starting with the classic 6-inch boots as the focal point, she opted for a palette of pastel tones.
‘It means I chose more neutral colors rather than vibrant ones’ she explains. A mix of brown,
cream, and soft hues elevated the look, with a pop of yellow from her bikini top, perfectly paired
with matching sunglasses. And of course, what’s a girl without her jewelry? Her gold pieces
added the perfect finishing touch.

“Comfort is definitely my top priority”
Hannah emphasizes that comfort is always her top priority, whether in everyday life or at special
events like the carnival. ‘Feeling comfortable and feeling like myself’ is her guiding principle,
and it’s something we resonate with at Voir. Defining your personal style is a journey that
evolves over time. ‘I finally realized what suits me, and I choose comfort first—if I’m not
feeling it, I go home and change!‘ she confides with a laugh.
For a hot day like this, her choice of loose-fitting shorts wasn’t just about style—it was a state
of mind, prioritizing comfort while still allowing room to dance freely.

    As our conversation with Hannah wrapped up, we couldn’t resist asking about the essentials
    she carried in her bag for the day. Prepared for anything, she listed her must-haves:
    • Portable charger and cord
    • Keys
    • Mints
    • Digital camera
    • A whistle (essential for Carni!)
    • Grill case (in case she needed to take it out)
    • Roll-on deodorant and perfume
    • Plasters
    • And she wishes she’d brought hand sanitizer or wipes!
    Reflecting on the day, Hannah shared some memorable moments: ‘Getting stuck in a stampede
    wasn’t on my bingo card for my first carnival, but it happened! Also, the food was absolutely
    incredible.’ she recalls with a smile.

]]> In the dusty desert land of Lolaville, an unassuming town in a remote area of the USA, something strange is happening. UFO sightings, year-round winters, odd coloured eyes, body markings and… Chimo bags? Was it aliens? Gods? We may never know. All we have now is a faux docu from fashion’s current favourite filmmaker/photographer, the Petra Collins, trying to piece it all together.

Along with a star-studded cast of former egirls and muses including Enja Manzor, Ali Micheal, Peng Chang and Biancakeii, Collins attempt to get to the bottom of the so-called UFO sightings that have been beaming down the fuzziest bags ranging from bright reds to sky blues fresh from the Bimba Y Lola FW22 collection, after all the truth is out there. Some of these girls have had dramatic changes from the understandable to the straight-up bizarre, discoloured eyes to schizoid obsessions of the third kind, red string in tow.

What this all put down to? Simply put, these girls have been bimboylolized. That said, who among us would turn their nose up at new Bimbo Y Lola at the small price of a sick, cyborg-esque eye? we wouldn’t.

The Bimbaylolafication of these girls however is only the second part of an alluring campaign for Bimba Y Lola’s new FW22 collection, with Petra Collins also shooting actress-director-writer-all-round-star Natasha Lyonne in head-to-toe Bimba Y Lola in the weeks leading up to the big drop.

Aside from being a visual treat, this new short film by Canadian artist Petra collins – known for her female gaze approach – is full to the brim of cultural references so cool you’ll literally summon a cigarette into your lips. The dry sunset of remote desert towns surrounded by neon signs and scruffy caravans take inspiration from everyone’s favourite male manipulator shows and films, amongst those: Repman, To die for and Twin peaks.

Bimbaylolized is a camp, dreamy short with all the fashion the Spanish brand has come to be known for with all the playfulness it’s come to be loved for. Whilst our questions may never truly be answered, we find peace in the fact that the truth is out there, somewhere.
