DSQUARED2 celebrated their 30^th anniversary last night by turning the runway into a New York club scene, even including a gathered crowd outside, for the ultimate birthday bash. 

The runway was graced by famous faces in leu of their 30^th anniversary. The stars that featured were Alex Consani, Irina Shayk, Isabeli Fontana, Tyson Beckford, and of course iconic supermodel Naomi Campbell closing the show, and not forgetting a special performance from JT at the end.

Doechii kicked off the show as she pulled up in a military-style vehicle exiting with dollar bills and in an army inspired look; wearing denim booty shorts, an oversized chunky brown belt, and a green corseted jacket, she stormed the runway along with a makeshift cigarette packet fixed to her sleeve which she pulled a cigarette out of.

Born in Canada, Made in Italy, is the founding brothers, Dean & Dan Caten’s slogan but it’s clear their inspiration was drawn from America as we saw Western cowboy tropes, biker leather and an abundance of New York City references including the classic yellow taxis and NYPD cars. 

Dean and Dan unveiled heavy duty denim, studded leather jackets, fur trims, a whole lot of army green, plus the return of DSQUARED2’s iconic Skate Boot. Cowboy references ran deep as the audience saw a heavy nod towards the trend that’s been so prominent over the past year and clearly on its way to making a return this autumn. Brought to life by the models strutting in cowboy boots with silver accents, leather chaps and jackets, flannel shirts and neckties, and not forgetting the most important accessory – the cowboy hat (and a belt here and there) to bring the looks together.

Renderings of leather and denim played a significant role in DSQUARED2’s show, seen as both gilets, bottoms, and everything in between, and most importantly Naomi Campbell’s whole ensemble including thigh high leather boots for the finale. This along with a few baker boy caps dotted throughout gave a nod to a sort of 1930s American pluck.

DSQUARED2 didn’t forget about America’s punk-rock era with nods towards the band KISS in both the makeup and the clothing which included their logo as the show started to draw to a close. We also got a bit of 70s disco thrown into the mix with neon catsuits, jewelled disco ball dresses, a multi-colour sequin tank, and a roller skater in a fishnet vest with a bedazzled denim jacket performing jaw dropping tricks on the runway.

To finish the show off, the DSQUARED2 brothers pulled up in an NYPD cop car and were walked down the runway in handcuffs by a police officer. Arrested for that bombshell of a show? We should hope so.

In a dimly lit room at Jean Paul Gaultier’s legendary Paris headquarters, Ludovic de Saint Sernin opened his debut couture show for the maison with a scream a theatrical harbinger of the breathtaking journey ahead. As waves of anticipation swept through the audience, including Megan Thee Stallion, Jennie Kim, and Rick Owens, the young designer unveiled Le Naufrage “The Shipwreck”, a collection that blended Gaultier’s iconic sensuality with his own raw edge.

De Saint Sernin, the eighth and youngest guest designer to helm Gaultier’s couture line since his 2020 retirement, reimagined the house’s maritime DNA with audacious storytelling. Drawing on Gaultier’s treasure trove of signatures, from cone bras to sailor motifs, the designer delivered a collection steeped in subversive sensuality and unabashed glamour. Inspired by Disney’s The Little Mermaid and a 1997 Gaultier headpiece resembling a ship, de Saint Sernin charted a course through myth, fantasy, and high fashion.

The show opened with a sea-green corseted gown adorned with shimmering scales, evoking a sultry mermaid washed ashore. The narrative unfolded with pieces that told their own stories: gowns resembling ship sails tied with ropes, a headpiece shaped like a ship’s silhouette, and latex ensembles embossed with crocodile textures. Rope-like pleated jersey voile, glimmering tartan, and an astonishing 50,000 brass pearls captured the untamed chaos and opulence of the sea.

For all its theatricality, de Saint Sernin’s collection also honoured the artisanal craftsmanship that defines haute couture. Feathers appeared waterlogged, chiffon was pleated to mimic waves, and traditional techniques merged with bold experimentation. The result? A line-up that felt as nostalgic as it was revolutionary.

Fashion’s most celebrated muses brought Le Naufrage to life on the runway. Paloma Elsesser, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Alex Consani embodied characters in the designer’s shipwrecked tale a pirate, a sailor, a siren each captivating the audience with a singular sense of allure.

The designer’s vision extended beyond the runway, capturing the irreverent spirit of Gaultier while injecting his own brand of “sensual but sophisticated, slutty but classy” allure. “I wanted to tell a story that feels like a unique experience, where every look transports you into a new world,” de Saint Sernin said.

The grand finale saw de Saint Sernin join Gaultier on the runway for a heartfelt embrace, a symbolic passing of the torch. Whether Le Naufrage marks the final chapter in Gaultier’s guest designer experiment remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s couture debut has set a daring new benchmark for storytelling and innovation in high fashion.

With Le Naufrage, de Saint Sernin didn’t merely honour Jean Paul Gaultier’s legacy, he redefined it, penning a bold new chapter in the maison’s storied history.

Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection, titled Icarus, opened Paris Couture Week with a magnificent display of innovation and craftsmanship that left the fashion world in awe. Inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus, whose tragic flight towards the sun symbolises the dangers of ambition, creative director Daniel Roseberry’s latest offering embraces both risk and reward. Far from a cautionary tale, Icarus embodies Roseberry’s own “quest for perfection” in haute couture, challenging modern ideas of simplicity by leaning into opulence, extravagance, and dramatic silhouette construction.

Roseberry’s collection asks a provocative question: Can modern fashion be baroque, extravagant, and layered, or is minimalism the only way forward? With this, he set out to reshape the idea of modernity by fusing the past with the future. His vision was clear: to create couture that feels new, despite drawing on the lessons of legendary designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Charles Frederick Worth, and Azzedine Alaïa. The result was a stunning mix of antique influences and futuristic forms, with exaggerated hourglass shapes and structures that seemed to defy the laws of fashion.

The collection’s focus on sculptural, almost architectural silhouettes was undeniable. Corseted dresses, voluminous hips, and exaggerated peplums were framed by crinoline-like structures that flared dramatically as the models moved. This sense of grandeur and high fashion was further amplified by the use of metallic fabrics, antique-inspired ribbons, and intricate pleating that evoked the craftsmanship of fashion’s golden ages.

At the heart of Icarus was a celebration of complex construction and embellishment. Models strutted down the runway in couture creations that embodied Roseberry’s vision of maximalism—rich fabrics of tulle, silk, and lace glimmered under the lights in a colour palette of muted nudes, dusty greens, and saffron browns. This was a world of sculptural garments where the exaggerated waistlines and dramatic trains seemed to reach for the heavens themselves, perfectly capturing the ambition of Icarus.

Signature pieces, such as Kendall Jenner’s heavily boned corset dress in pearl grey satin, made an unforgettable impact. The dress, with its sculpted train, perfectly balanced elegance with the boldness of couture’s tradition. Meanwhile, Mona Tougaard’s look seemed to transcend the runway entirely, with a look described as art-like and mesmerising. The main topic of conversation was Tougaard’s look, with many questioning where her waist had gone, and some even going so far as to suggest that it should be Zendaya’s next red-carpet look. Also notable was Alex Consani’s opera coat, a sensual creation adorned with feathers and designed to be worn off the shoulder, creating an elegant yet seductive silhouette.

Throughout the show, Schiaparelli’s hallmark craftsmanship was evident, from the intricate corsetry to the visible and invisible padding that created “impossible” silhouettes. The attention to detail was extraordinary, with pearls, beads, jacquard, and velvet forming a rich tapestry of textures that adorned each piece.

Models like Kendall Jenner and Mona Tougaard stood out not only for their physical presence but for how they embodied the spirit of Schiaparelli with grace and strength. Their runway moments were a testament to the power of couture and the remarkable vision behind it.

The Icarus show attracted a dazzling array of celebrity guests, seen in full Schiaparelli, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Carla Bruni, Kelly Rutherford, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Gabrielle Union, Anna Wintour and Regina King were just a few of the notable figures in attendance. Their presence underscored the collection’s significance, and their reactions spoke volumes about the impact of Roseberry’s work.

As luxury fashion faces a downturn, many designers are embracing minimalism to appeal to more practical and understated tastes. However, Daniel Roseberry’s Icarus is a bold rejection of this trend. Instead of toning down the glamour, he embraced maximalism, creating garments that feel like an escape from the ordinary. His commitment to intricate details, opulent textures, and dramatic shapes proves that haute couture is not merely about fashion—it’s about fantasy, escapism, and pushing boundaries.

For Roseberry, haute couture is not just about creating beautiful clothes; it’s about challenging expectations and reaching new heights. “How high can we couturiers go?” he asks. “As high as the sun—and the Gods—allow us.” With Icarus, he has done just that, proving that risk, when executed with skill and imagination, can yield extraordinary results.

Since taking the helm at Schiaparelli in 2019, Daniel Roseberry has redefined what it means to design for the modern woman. With Icarus, he continues to elevate the legacy of the house, balancing its rich heritage with a forward-thinking vision. His dedication to haute couture as an art form, rich in history, beauty, and innovation, cements his position at the forefront of contemporary fashion. Icarus is not just a collection; it’s a statement of what can be achieved when ambition and creativity reach for the sky.

Rihanna was the star of the red carpet as all eyes were on her and A$ap Rocky wearing Christian Lacroix and Bottega Veneta. Her blue fur get up was a vintage Lacroix haute couture piece from FW 2002 and fell nothing short of Badgalriri’s signature style. Elevated with stacked silver necklaces and black leather gloves, she stole the show.

Co-host for the evening, Maya Jama dazzled us as she wore a stunning olive-green gown with cross over detailing at the top and embroidered flowers at the front. The silk flowing train also included intricate embroidery along with a fishnet trim encapsulating Connor Ives as a designer as we see his unexpected fabric combinations and striking colours first hand.

Jourdan Dunn served us a head-to-toe leopard print moment with Dior. The model chanelled her inner black-cat energy with the cat-eye lashes, and showed off her legs with the micro shorts, perfectly accompanying the blazer and long black gloves. The bakerboy cap finished off the look with a British essence for the British Fashion Awards.

Ashley Graham walked the carpet in a gorgeous black dress from David Koma’s first collection for Blumarine. The black dress included a sheer train to finish it off and a structured bodice showing off her figure. Graham, who had her VS debut earlier this year, finished the look off with a slicked back bun and all silver jewellery.

The stunning Halle Bailey wore a bespoke Ellie Misner dress and channelled her inner Disney princess on the red carpet. She arrived with a light and airy presence as she graced us in a couture piece draped in pearls and holographic cut outs mirroring when she starred as The Little Mermaid.

Alex Consani became the first transgender woman to win the Model of The Year award last night and as Voir puts it – made style accessible to women everywhere. She walked the carpet looking gorgeous in a Dilara Findikoglu moment and celebrated backstage in style after thanking the transgender models who came before her, paving the way for Consani to flourish.

Julia Fox joined Consani in supporting emerging designer Dilara Findikoglu, as she broke the internet in the custom dress. The white floor-length gown included sheer cut outs showing off Fox’s figure, and styled with a wet-look up do and icy makeup to tie everything together.

Chlöe Bailey (left) is pictured looking glamorous in an Atsuko Kudo black gown with a red accent in the bust area. The latex ensemble created a raw feminine energy, the pop of red giving depth to the outfit and her hair matching the vibe as it effortlessly shaped her face. The look was finished off with a silver diamond necklace as we were left with an undeniable serve on the carpet.

Simone Ashley, Bridgerton star stepped onto the carpet in a baby pink, strapless Prada gown. The coquette dress had different levels to it; from a short front to a long train at the back and was finished off with a matching pink bow on the bodice. Styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray, Simone Ashley for sure had her girly moment on the runway in that dress, along with a slicked back hairstyle which was giving an iconic pixie cut at the front.

Ming Lee Simmons wore an undeniably daring look to the awards last night as she was pictured in a sheer chainmail dress. The floor length number was figure hugging and sleekly complemented by jet straight hair in a half up fashion and incredibly well contoured make-up. The look gave her a luxuriously fearless presence on the runway.

Munroe Bergdorf left Voir nothing short of speechless as she dominated the runway in a Patrick McDowell gown. The structured silhouette on the bodice broke off into a bubble skirt and was accompanied by a luxurious train graciously following her. The statement dress created a memorable bridal-like vibe which was sophisticated paired with dramatic flair.

Victoria’s Secret has made its famous return to New York after five years off the runway and came back more inclusive and diverse as promised.

The show was kicked off with Gigi rising up from under the runway in a soft pink playsuit and the classic Victoria’s Secret wings, followed by more Angels in an array of soft pinks and whites creating a charming and dreamy start to the show, including debut from plus-size model Devyn Garcia, who kickstarted Victoria’s Secret’s new image.

This year Victoria’s Secret was represented by two transgender models – Brazilian model Valentina Sampaio who has worked with them since 2019, and a new addition of Alex Cosani. As Victoria Secret promised to “celebrate all women”, plus size models Paloma Elsesser and Ashley Graham also strutted down the runway making multiple extravagant appearances.

After Kate, a dark, metallic theme emerged and here is where we saw the inclusivity really begin and Victoria’s Secret fulfilling their promise to fans. We watched Valentina Sompaio walk the runway with giganantic bow-like wings, followed by plus-size model Kai Soleil, and later featuring Miss Tyra Banks closing the show.

As that section continued, we saw legendary Irina Shayk covered in stars followed by Joan Smalls in the most intricately carved wings, adding her finishing touch to that section.

As the models walked, attendees couldn’t keep their eyes off the shoes, all meticulously created to correspond with one theme and match each specific outfit. The shoes wrapped around the models’ legs, some with flowers or wings, others in a diamante style or plain and simple.

Plus-size model Ashley Graham opened the following section in a lace lingerie set with gold embellished wings and shoes to match. We got given a dark and sexy vibe, again heavily featuring red and black. Alessandra Ambrosio made her anticipated return in a sensual lingerie bodysuit, along with a debut from Jill Kortleve – another plus-size model feature this year, in a gorgeous flower number.

The fourth and final section began with an unexpected Cher performance and a lot of red to strongly finish of the show. Here we saw an influx of the original Angels closing the show with a bang, including Candice Swanepoel, Grace Elizabeth and Adriana Lima, accompanied by the new faces of VS.

The show was thought to be closed by the second Hadid Sister – Bella, in a ‘black swan’ feathered robe, opposite to Gigi who embodied the white swan in the opening. However, as the audience wondered whether she was coming out, the OG Tyra Banks rose from beneath the stage in a shiny corset and robe, and closed the show surrounded by all the angels.

The show reflected Victoria’s Secret in a new light, as they listened to criticisms and created a more inclusive and diverse show. We can’t wait to see more from them in the future.
