Euphoria Season 2 Premiere


Demie took the red carpet by storm in a black sequined Balenciaga gown at Euphoria’s season 2 premiere. The star’s old Hollywood look took a modern twist with a pair of iconic ultra-high Balenciaga boots.

Alexa’s make-up for the event matched the look’s old Hollywood vibe. In an interview with Vogue, the star said she wanted her make-up to feel ‘timeless, elegant, old Hollywood’. Alexa’s make-up artist Sam Visser granted her wish with a classic nude lip and dusty purple eyeshadow.

Even when the star isn’t on the red carpet, her day-to-day shopping spree looks are equally as glamorous. While out with her bestie Hailey Bieber this month, Alexa looked chic yet cosy in a sage green teddy trenchcoat and black beret.

Demie was a vision of confidence in an orange Moncler puffer over a bikini top by Lisa Marie Fernandez for her Interview Magazine feature.

Adding to her sultry but urban look, Demie’s make-up artist for the shoot, Raoul Alexander, used Chanel to create a passionate smoky eye-look.

Alexa Demie and Petra F Collins

In a shoot with photographer Petra Collins, Alexa was almost unrecognisable in a blonde wig and pixie ears to match the shoot’s fairytale theme.

The fantastical shoot featured clothing looks styled by Dean Dicriscio like futuristic metallic bikini tops and low rise jeans reminiscent of the Y2K era.

The make-up for the shoot was simultaneously futuristic while dabbling in 90s/Y2K make-up traditions, like Demie’s pencil thin brows and glossy lips by Kali Kennedy.

It wouldn’t be an Alexa fashion edit without mentioning her iconic looks in this season’s Euphoria. For season 2, stylist Heidi Bivans brought the return of Maddy’s iconic two- piece trouser/ tee combos.

In Euphoria’s most recent episode, Seth Pratt designed a stunning 90s- style green slip dress with white lace trimmings covered by a robe soaked in diamonds.

Euphoria’s Latest Episode

In this week’s Euphoria episode, Rue’s intense escape wasn’t the only thing that had us talking. Alexa’s character (Maddy Perez) had the most dramatic look to match the show’s intense scenes.

While Alexa’s character only had one scene in the episode, this didn’t stop her from donning a fit’ which stole the show. Alexa wore an ocean blue fishnet tank with a super shiny lip look to match her 90s vibe. It’s safe to say Alexa’s look was the perfect uplift between episode five’s gut-wrenching scenes.

The best element of the look was Alexa’s black and white coffin nails with embedded rhinestones. The show’s nail artist, Natalie Minerva, said the ultra-long nails were her favourite nail look to create so far!

Celebrating another year round the sun in style, Kitty Cash donned an all over denim look for her birthday bash in Malibu. The oversized look was a hit this week with Rimon posing for Instagram in an iteration of the classic black suit jacket. Paired with matching black short shorts and some sky high boots, this is a look we want to see more of as the year goes on.

Last but not least, and always understanding the assignment, is queen Riri of course. Sporting a stylish monogram gilet with accessories to match, Rihanna dressed up the look with a sleek pair of gold stilettos. She just doesn’t disappoint!

Fresh off the release of Euphoria season 2, Barbie Ferreira was sizzling in this printed mesh two piece dress. Her sleek black hair hung just off her shoulders meaning all eyes were on that dress and it’s matching counterpart the gloves.

Make-up trends come and go, but eyeliner always manages to stay relevant, whatever the season. It’s long been due since Taylor Swift’s cat eye made the most popular eye-liner style. Nowadays, people prefer to elongate the eye and lift it upwards, as seen with the fox eye eyeliner trend, popularised by Bella Hadid. Eyeliner is so personal and subjective that it is hard to write down the perfect technique, but by classifying them into these styles, you can choose the one that best suits your face. Regardless of whether you choose to follow trends or not, here is our guide to what your eyeliner says about you, together with a few expert tips that will elevate your eyeliner skills to the next level:

CAT EYE

If you’re still an avid fan of the cat eye in 2021, don’t worry, we’ll give you a few tips to refresh the iconic shape for a more modern, snatched and chic look. Whether your eyes are hooded, asymmetrical or droopy, a winged cat eye eyeliner is perfect for disguising these features as it adds so much depth that it can easily reshape your eyes in accordance with the shape that best suits your face. If you use this technique, you’re probably have a very welcoming aura, and you tend to make people feel at ease. But don’t be mistaken by its apparent softness: people that still choose to use this technique are probably people you should be around: keep them close, you’ll miss their genuineness when they’re gone.

EXPERT TIP:

Instead of covering the upper lid with a thick layer of black, try using a black pencil on the inside of your lid in the inner corner of the eye up until the first third or the highest point of the eye, whichever comes first. Then with a wing liner, draw a straight line of about a third of the length of the lower eyelid outwards, continuing on the trajectory of the angle that your lower eye-lid forms on the outer corner. When looking at yourself in the mirror with a perpendicular and relaxed face, you should avoid straight lines going outwards, but rather a thicker line going down up until where the eyelid folds, and a progressively finer line extending outwards. This way, you can still enjoy the boldness of a cat eye whilst applying some of the newer techniques that lift the eye upwards, emulating a face-lift surgery.

FOX EYE

This technique has got everyone hyped up about eyeliner once again. If you use this technique, you probably like being in control and you’re always the boss around people. You aren’t afraid to speak about for yourself and people are mesmerised by your energy. You have a magnetic soul and always ready to conquer the world.

EXPERT TIP:

This technique merges eye contour and elongated eyeliner together for a sophisticated, classy and expensive look. For this style you only need a winged liner, and the placement slightly differs from the cat eye. Instead of starting to draw the line from the first third of the eye, you should aim at starting from the second third of the eye outwards. That’s right: outwards, not downwards. The eyeliner should still follow the trajectory of the angle of the outer lower lid, but instead of being placed on the same level, it should be slightly more lifted, creating a parallel line with the extension of the lower lid. To lift the eye even higher, the eyeliner shouldn’t be connected to the upper eyelid when it extends outwards, but rather create a small space between the outer eye and the eyeliner to give the illusion of a bigger and more elongated eye. In other words, don’t connect the end of your eye to your eyeliner. This look can be completed with an inner corner winged eyeliner, placed at the same angle of the line that extends outwards. Use cream contour or a brown eyeshadow alongside the lower half of the upper outer lid to elongate the eye, continuing to blend outwards on the same trajectory to lift the eye further.

Since the launch of Euphoria, we have had an ongoing obsession with Alexa Demie. The makeup looks of the young American actress have taken over social media platforms, making her a source of inspiration for those who choose not to conform.

Growing up, Alexa was exposed to the beauty world by her mother who worked as a make-up artist for MAC cosmetics. Weirdly enough, years down the line, Alexa ended up being the face of the More Than Meets the Eye collection back in March 2020, when the beauty giant introduced new eye formulas through this campaign. The actress has also played a big role in the makeup looks she wore as Maddy Perez in season one of Euphoria, always doing her own signature winged liner.

While makeup is a big part of Alexa’s life and her skill and talent are what we love about her most, she has also had quite a few fashion moments we cannot ignore (both as Maddy Perez and herself). Just like with makeup, Alexa plays a lot with retro influences (mainly from the ‘90s and ‘70s) in her fashion styling. An image of this generation where flared trousers, platform shoes, and oversized suits are the new chic, she is a muse for those who want to be authentic from top to bottom, in both makeup and fashion.
