Humidity-Proof Hairstyles For The Heatwave

Temperatures are set to soar for this coming week, which means those of us with frizz-prone hair need a little extra attention. We’re here to help you out – find our roundup of chic summery hairdos that will look as good as they’ll feel.

Braids are the crème de la crème when it comes to frizz control – No matter how many you chose to wear, your hair is sure to stay under control all day. Super customizable, they can be arranged in an array of gorgeous patterns, lengths and various adornments while being very easy to maintain. If you haven’t tried the hairstyle and want to, Helena Koudou, a hair artist that has appeared in Vogue explains, ‘for beginners, the easiest… is two French braids. All you have to do is part your hair in the middle and braid two braids going downwards.

Ballerina Bun

Never underestimate the frizz controlling power of a high bun. It’s easy, takes little practice to master and only requires the bare minimum of equipment. Simply brush your hair into a tight ponytail at the crown, twist the hair to form the bun and secure with bobby pins along the way and finish with a light hairspray.

Accessorized Updo

A pretty way to distract people from flyaways – litter your hair with as many clips as you desire.

Slick Pony

As seen strutting down the runway on Dior’s couture Autumn/Winter 2021 show, this prim ponytail will make any outfit look put together while keeping frizz at bay. Don’t be afraid of a can of hairspray, though.

It’s time to warm those crimpers up because the 80’s trend is actually an excellent way to put added texture through your hair and make frizz look deliberate. Be selective with sections and scoop into a ponytail for best results.

The Wet Look

For short hair and high humidity, look no further than old-school pomade. Simply add it from roots to tips and sculpt hair into place, let it dry without touching.
