In the day of the insta-photo, there has never been a better time for image makers to carve ahead of the mainstream. Here we feature a selection of editorials and campaigns which were shot primarily in monochrome. We’re not sure whether it is their old-school cinematic charm, their visual allure or their artistic underscore, but they tell stories in a way that has almost been forgotten.
